Widower's body so 'badly decomposed' upon discovery in his Romford home that cause of death cannot be determined, coroner rules

A PENSIONER’S body was so ’badly decomposed’ by the time he was found dead in his home that experts could not determine his cause of death, a coroner has said.

Anthony Ayres, 78, of Bell House Road, Romford, was found ’lifeless’ and in a state of ’advanced decomposition’ when he was discovered at his house on November 2, 2016.

The coroner, who recorded an open verdict, said the circumstances in which Mr Ayres was found were ’not sinister’ but ’made it impossible to determine how he died’.

Mr Ayres was the widower of Valerie Margaret Ayres.
