A RETIRED machinist from Romford died the morning after she rejected medical care for a fall she suffered at home, a coroner found.

Queenie Jean McQuillan, 82, of Rush Green Road, suffered damage to her lung and ribs after she fell down the stairs and landed heavily on the ground floor on September 28, 2016.

The coroner, who recorded an ’accidental’ verdict, said Queenie declined emergency treatment on the night of her fall and died the morning after.

Queenie was the wife of Thomas McQuillan, a retired pipe fitter and welder.
