Retired carpenter from Hornchurch died from mesothelioma caused by asbestos, coroner finds

A RETIRED carpenter from Hornchurch died from asbestos exposure, a coroner has ruled.

David Hammond, 69, of Farm Way, died from the effects of mesothelioma, a condition contracted from exposure to asbestos during his time as a carpenter.

The coroner gave a verdict of death caused by ’industrial disease’.

Mr Hammond was the husband of Christine Hammond, a hairdresser.
