BILLERICAY TOWN Girls Under 15’s Manager, Dave Barrett, unveiled the team’s new signings for the upcoming 2017/18 season. First, goalkeeper, Gemma Crowe, who signs from West Ham having been voted their Manager’s Player of the Year last season.
Crowe is joined by two exceptional talents from the Essex RTC in Bryonie Barran and Freya Fuller. Barrett said: “These signings are a real signal of our intent to build and develop a team that will rise through the women’s football pyramid.
“Yes, our short term goal is to retain the league title for the third season on the spin and to win every cup competition we enter. But in line with the ambition of Billericay Town owner, Glenn Tamplin, we will be knocking on the door of the WPL and WSL in no time with the calibre of player that is being attracted to the club and the unbelievable infrastructure that is being developed. Billericay Town really is the most exciting football story in Essex.”
Meanwhile, this weekend, the team makes its way to England’s HQ, St. George’s Park to compete in the ESF National Grand Finale. They go there as defending champions but face some tough competition from the best team’s across the UK. The competition rounds off another successful season for the team having already been crowned Essex Champions for the second year running.
