Olympic flame route in borough unveiled

THE route of the Olympic flame through Waltham Forest has been revealed.
It will come through the borough on Saturday, July 21, starting at The Eastway at 6.28pm.
The full route is:
• The Eastway A106
• Ruckholt Road A106 - Left Turn
• Leyton High Road A112
• Grange Park Road A112 - Right Turn
• Church Road A1006
• Leyton High Road A112 - Left Turn
• Leyton County Cricket Ground
• Cricket pitch - Left Turn
• Leyton High Road A112
• Hoe Street A112 - Left Turn
• Selborne Road - Right Turn
• Market Square / Live Site
• Screen/staging area - Right Turn
• High Street
• Hoe Street A112 - Right Turn
• Forest Road A503 - Left Turn
• Town Hall entrance
• Town Hall entrance road
• Waltham Forest Town Hall Steps - Left Turn
• Car park on east side of the Town Hall on to Stage
The London stage of the Torch Relay will come to the borough having already travelled through Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Greenwich.
Announcing the relay route, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “It is fantastic that ordinary Londoners will be an integral part of the Games and help kick-start the most exciting summer in the capital’s history, taking the torch past the doorsteps of thousands of people.
“Residents in Waltham Forest will have a wonderful chance to soak up the festival atmosphere as local people carry the flame towards its final destination at the Olympic Park.
“Not only will the torch pass by some iconic sights on its travels through the capital, it will visit sports centres, high streets, parks and town halls, bringing the Games right to the heart of London’s communities.”
