Vote for fitness project
Thursday, 05 July 2012
A PROJECT helping women in Waltham Forest to get fit and socialise has won a place in the semi finals of the National Lottery Awards 2012 – and now needs your votes.
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Think Fit programme gives women from disadvantaged communities the opportunity to take part in affordable sport and physical activities.
It runs events across north London, including sessions at Leyton Sixth Form College, Pastures Youth Centre in Leytonstone and Leyton Leisure Lagoon.
Think Fit is one of only 10 schemes to make it through in the Best Sport Project category in the annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects.
The winning project will receive a £2,000 cash prize.
Lucy Peirce, Think Fit Manager, said: “Think Fit motivates women from all walks of life to socialise, get fit and have fun.
“Our work has already helped change the lives of more than 700 women in north London and we look forward to developing the project further over the coming year.
“We are delighted to be nominated for this award and believe it is recognition for the great work everyone at the Foundation has put in.”
Voting for the semi-finals ends at midday on Sunday, July 22.
