MEDICAL: Pupils from Gwyn Jones Primary School on their visit to Whipps Cross Hospital.

PUPILS from Gwyn Jones Primary School in Leytonstone gained a first-hand insight into how to fit a plaster cast during a visit this month to Whipps Cross Hospital.
The children were given a guided tour of Outpatients and the hospital’s Eye Treatment Centre, and took part in activities in the plaster room, as well as being shown the workings of a blue light ambulance and experiencing what visual impairment can feel like.
Whipps ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) consultant, Nitesh Patel, also showed the students the inside of an ear and throat using a videoscope.
During the visit, the children presented the hospital with a wishing tree.
Learning Mentor at Gwyn Jones, Lucy Andrew, said the school was really pleased to be offered the opportunity of visiting Whipps Cross.
